It’s time to hear from one of our directors, Lisa Zevi, in our next employee spotlight.
How long have you worked at Walpole Partnership?
I have been involved in some capacity from the very start of Walpole.
What’s your role at Walpole Partnership?
My role at Walpole has evolved over the years. I was Operations Director for two years but have since transitioned into a supporting role focused on team dynamics and working with key individuals on challenges and development.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I had to confer with my Mum on this one, and she confirmed that all I ever wanted as a child was to organise people and things! As the eldest child, I’m told I was bossy which I’m sure can’t be right!
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
I am proud of the work I do with CEOs and founders, helping them get really clear about what they actually want. But my greatest achievement is being a wife and life partner. It’s easy enough to get married, but to stay in a relationship and really make it work takes a lot of courage, flexibility and honesty. I feel incredibly fortunate to have met someone who is willing and able to walk by my side on this crazy adventure called life.
What can you be found doing in your spare time?
I discovered relatively late in life the incredible benefits of vigorous exercise, and there are very few days you won’t find me in the gym or running outside. My husband and I love nothing better than hanging out with big sharks, mantas and rays. I’m a restless soul, but as long as I have a laptop, phone, Kindle and dive computer I’m happy!
What one skill would you love to have or learn to do?
I would love to have a beautiful singing voice.
If you could time travel, where would you go?
I love living now and am not one for regrets, but sometimes I think about ‘Oscar Wilde’s ‘Youth is wasted on the young’ quote and think about going back and meeting my younger self…
What one thing really annoys you?
I’ve never been able to manage or understand when people simply don’t care. Low standards and lack of professionalism really get under my skin!
What is your favourite film of all time?
I do love me a bit of Tom Cruise, particularly ‘A Few Good Men’ but am also a hopeless romantic so ‘Love Actually’ gets me every time. If I want something a bit more intense, it’s got to be the ‘Kill Bill’ films.
Sweet or savoury?
Definitely sweet. I could quite happily eat ice cream every day.
